HUNTING COUNTRY ASSOCIATION

P.O. BOX 896, TRYON, NC 28782

     WELCOME TO HISTORIC

    HUNTING COUNTRY!

  June 19 - 22, 2026

The Historic Hunting Country Association is a neighborhood zoning association that has been in place since 1984, to protect and preserve the Hunting Country historic area.

The Hunting Country Association exists because residents care deeply about protecting the unique qualities that make this area special. Our community's rural character, open spaces, low-density residential setting, privacy, and stability did not happen by accident. They are the result of thoughtful planning, sound zoning, and decades of stewardship by residents.

Elections were held at the Board's December 4th meeting and the following were elected for the 2026 year.  Janet Peterson, Secretary,

Kim Lopakta, Treasurer, Bertie Phayer, Vice President and Phil Burrus, President

Zoning is our primary focus, as an association, to keep our area beautiful, natural and tranquil.  We want to preserve our zoning in both the RE-5 and R-1 Zones.

We are a 501-C3 Non-Profit Association, non-political Association, established in 1984. Our Board members are volunteer residents who live in Hunting Country.  We always welcome your opinions and feedback.  Email us your thoughts at huntingcountrya@aol.com  Our meetings are on even months and residents are welcome to attend.  Our next meeting is in July at FENCE.
