7/1 Update from the Polk Planning Office: The Text Amendment fee will be $500.00 effective July 1, 2026. The old fee was $100.00.
The HCA had requested one thousand dollars but we are pleased with the increase. It hopefully will cover all expenses so that Polk taxpayers do not have to pay the difference.
6/11 The Polk County Planning Board rejected an Applicants Text Amendment to allow short term vacation rentals in RE-5 by a 5-2 vote on Thursday, June 11. The meeting was attended by 90 plus HC residents, the majority whom spoke against any changes to RE-5 zoning.
