MISSION and GOALS of the Hunting Country Association

The Mission of the Hunting Country Association! is to preserve the unique character and resources of the Hunting Country.

The Goals of the Hunting Country! Association are:

-To maintain a legal defense fund on behalf of Hunting Country Association and its residents for the purpose of supporting the Association's goals and local zoning laws.

-To preserve the essentially equestrian character of the Hunting Country and its existing ambience.

- To preserve the private trail system, supported by FETA, a NC nonprofit corporation, that runs throughout the Hunting Country.

- Promote orderly growth in the Hunting Country that is consistent with its equestrian character and to preserve the area's existing ambience.

- Protect Hunting Country from overdevelopment from inappropriate commercial and industrial growth.

- Ensure that development in Hunting Country is in harmony with the area's essentially equestrian character and existing ambience, will not materially impair the existing private trail system that runs throughout the Hunting Country, and will not substantially reduce property values in the area and will not result in overcrowding of the land.

- Permit development only where it is coordinated with the availability of necessary services such as water, sewer, land requirements, and where the total costs incurred in providing those services are borne by the developers, not the other property owners within Hunting Country.

- Encourage, when development does occur, the preservation of trees, green space and the existing private trail system that runs throughout the Hunting Country for recreational and ecological reasons.

- Protect environmentally and culturally significant areas of Hunting Country.

- Prevent visual eyesores in Hunting Country such as commercial signage, abandoned and junked vehicles and trailers, dilapidated buildings and accumulated trash.
